Steve Davis was halfway to an electrical engineering degree—and still considering a career in stand-up comedy—when God interrupted his life. In a six-month span, Steve transferred from a major state university to a small, Christian college, and began studying to become a pastor.
Twenty-some years later, he’s worked for two of the world’s largest corporations, pastored in three states, and planted a church near Philadelphia. And he’s pretty much given up on the stand-up comedy thing.
In 1989, against her own better judgment, Kim accepted Steve’s marriage proposal. They now have three daughters Nicole, Sierra, and Dominique, four dogs, and a shared passion to help people become all that God designed them to be.
Steve’s speaking style is energetic, down-to-earth, practical—and occasionally shows signs of the stand-up comic that wasn’t to be. And he’s still excited that God chose to interrupt his life.
Barry Jones // Executive Pastor
Barry Jones was working on a business management degree with hopes of opening his own comic book shop when God called him to the ministry. Though shocked that God would call a comic-reading nerd to ministry, he transferred to Toccoa Falls College and graduated with a degree in Christian Education.
Since graduation Barry has been a youth pastor in Florida and the senior pastor of a local church. He joined the staff of Spout Springs in August of 2010. He and his wife Angie live in Spout Springs with their two girls Elyse and Claire.
During his time off pastor Barry enjoys reading, movies and woodworking. And yes, he still reads comics.
Jose Dominguez // Campus Pastor
Jose Dominguez is originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado. He moved all the way down to Texas where he attended Southwestern Assemblies Of God University (say that fast ten times) where he was majoring in counseling/psychology. He met his beautiful wife Cristina, got married, and moved back to Colorado where he became a Worship Pastor.
Jose came on staff here at SSC in December of 2012 and started out at SSC as the Worship Arts Pastor. As time progressed he realized that God was pulling him to develop and deploy leaders to lead worship in his stead and that his new role was to pour into the leadership and volunteer teams that help make Sunday mornings happen. He still oversees the worship team and every now and again you’ll see him “slappa da bass.”
He has two children, Seth (9), who he coaches in wresting and Kayla (6 going on 16), who is a great ballet dancer. They are all AVID Denver Broncos fans…well, except for Cristina. For some reason she likes the Dallas Cowboys.

Kristen Green // Children’s Ministry Director
Kristen Green is originally from a small town in Southern Illinois. She knew from a young age she loved to travel and wanted to branch outside of the comfort of her cozy small-town upbringing. At 21 years old while pursuing a degree in microbiology she realized it was time for a change and felt a pull from God to join the United States Army Reserves.
Shortly after joining the Army Reserves her life changed when she met her husband Brian with whom she now shares two beautiful children, their daughter Hayden and their son Kellan. His career in the military eventually brought them to North Carolina where she and her family found Spout Springs Church. She would soon find out what it meant to become a Christian and shortly after, a true follower of Christ.
After a few years of attending Spout Springs Church Kristen realized she had a servant’s heart and followed her calling to serve. She quickly realized partnering with the families of SSC and helping them grow in their faith was a passion of hers. This led her to become highly invested in the Children’s Ministry. With God’s grace and guidance, she continues to fulfill her role by leading in the Children’s Ministry at Spout Springs Church while pursuing her BS in Criminal Justice at Liberty University.
In her spare time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, snowboarding, fishing, and coaching her kids’ little league team.
