Student Ministries
Partnering with Parents, Growing Faith
Investing in the Next Generation
Our Student Ministries exist to invest in the next generation, from infants through 12th grade. Your child is invited to join us as they grow in faith through engaging lessons, fun activities, and meaningful relationships. Whether you’re looking for a place for your child or a way to serve—rocking babies, teaching kids, or leading teens—there are plenty of opportunities to get involved!
Children Ministry
Children’s Ministry is our ministry for infants up through 5th grade. If you’d like to partner with parents in developing the faith of the next generation and helping strengthen parent-child relationships, this your place. We have plenty of opportunities from teaching to holding babies or even helping parents register their kids.

FAQs
What do we teach?
We use a children’s ministry curriculum called Wonder Ink, which is designed to help kids explore God’s Big Story and grow in their identity in Christ. Each week, all ages study the same core Bible story, but the lessons are adapted by age to make sure they’re meaningful and understandable.
The teaching unfolds through four phases:
Curiosity — we begin with an activity or object lesson that sparks wonder and questions about God.
Belief — we dig into Scripture together, seeing how the story of the Bible reveals who God is.
Faith — we help kids connect the biblical truths to their own lives, encouraging them to think about how God’s story intersects with theirs.
Identity — kids respond (through worship, reflection, or an activity) and hear key “wonder truths,” such as “I am known by God,” “Jesus loves me,” “I am led by the Holy Spirit,” and “My life can tell of God’s wonder.”
Over a 3‑year plan, the curriculum covers the entire Bible, balancing Old and New Testament stories so children see how every part of Scripture tells one grand story of God’s redemption.
Is my child safe?
Your child’s safety is one of our highest priorities, and we’ve put several systems in place to protect them physically, emotionally, and medically while they’re with us.
All of our volunteers are carefully screened — every person who serves in our children’s ministry has a current background check on file and has gone through training. No one serves with kids until they’ve met those requirements.
At check-in, you’ll receive a printed security label that includes a unique alphanumeric code — one for your child and one for you. This helps ensure that only you (or an approved guardian) can pick up your child after service.
Each child also wears a name label that includes any medical or allergy information you’ve entered in our system, so our team is aware of their specific needs at all times.
In addition, our classrooms are staffed according to safe adult-to-child ratios, and we maintain emergency procedures and consistent attendance tracking throughout every service.
We want you to feel confident that when you drop off your child, they’re not only learning about God but are also in a secure and caring environment. If you ever have questions or updates to your child’s information, please don’t hesitate to ask — we’re here to partner with you.
How can I help or get involved?
We love when parents want to be part of what God is doing in our children’s ministry — and there are a few ways you can get involved, whether it’s on Sundays or throughout the week.
If you're interested in volunteering, the first step is to fill out the Volunteer Interest Form in the Church Center App. Just open the app, tap on Next Steps, and you’ll find a form labeled ‘Join a Ministry Team.’ Once we receive your form, we’ll follow up with the next steps, like a background check and training.
But even if you can’t serve on Sundays, you can still make a big impact by reinforcing the weekly lessons at home. The Student Ministry tab in the Church Center App has Wonder@Home resources that include memory verses, questions to talk about, and ideas to help your child live out their faith during the week. Even simple conversations about what they learned on Sunday can go a long way in helping them grow.
Your involvement in your child’s spiritual journey doesn’t just bless your family — it strengthens our entire church. When kids see their parents engaged in their faith, it reinforces the importance of what they’re learning. It also builds a stronger community, where families are connected and growing together in Christ.
Whether you’re serving in a classroom, praying for our team, or just asking your child what they learned each week — it all matters. You’re an essential part of what God is doing here.”
How can I continue conversations about faith at home?
The best faith formation happens when what kids learn at church is reinforced at home, and we’ve built our children’s ministry to make that as easy and meaningful as possible for your family.
First, everything we teach comes from the Wonder Ink curriculum, which helps kids explore God’s Big Story while discovering their identity in Christ. Each week, your child hears clear biblical truths like ‘I am known by God’ or ‘I am led by the Holy Spirit’, and we send out Wonder@Home resources to help you continue those conversations throughout the week. These include memory verses, questions, and activity ideas tied directly to the Sunday lesson.
Because we have solid safety and check-in systems in place, you can feel confident that your child is in a secure and focused environment — which sets the stage for them to truly engage and bring what they’ve learned into your home.
We also encourage parents to get involved, whether by volunteering (you can sign up easily through the Church Center App) or simply staying connected to what your child is learning. When you know the lesson, the memory verse, and the “Wonder Truth” for the week, it becomes much easier to ask, “What did you learn about God today?” or “How can we live that out as a family this week?”
Every conversation you have with your child about faith — big or small — matters. When parents are engaged, kids not only retain more of what they’re learning, but they also see faith as something personal and lifelong. And when that happens, it doesn’t just impact your home — it helps build a stronger, healthier church family.”
If you ever have questions about how to continue these conversations at home, or if you’d like help using the weekly resources, we’d love to support you — just reach out to us at kids@spoutsprings.org. We’re here to partner with you.
Meet our Director, Ashley
Ashley began attending Spout Springs Church in November 2020 and quickly found her place serving with our church children. By April 2021 she was volunteering regularly, and just a few months later, in October 2021, she officially joined our staff team.
Faith has been an important part of Ashley’s life from the very beginning. She grew up in church and attended a small private Christian school outside of Baltimore. Although she was saved at a young age, in 2013 she and her husband, Chris, made the decision to recommit their lives to Jesus and were baptized together. Today, they are raising two daughters who share in their family’s faith journey.
Ashley is passionate about helping children discover their own relationship with Jesus and guiding them as they begin becoming all that God created them to be. She has also continued her own growth as a leader by earning an Associate of Arts degree in Christian Leadership from Manna University in May 2025.
